Hi everyone!
The Jabez Smith family has scattered and I know that cousins from my generation have never been close. I felt it was time for us to set up a central posting site where we can keep up easily with the lives of each other, connect with each other and get to know each other.
I have been researching the Jabez Smith line for 35 years and have a wealth of information but certainly need more. I have pictures from my immediate side of the family and pictures of members further back.
Recently, actually two years ago, I finally met a cousin, Cindy Powell, whom I had just recently contacted through Ancestry.com. I will have to ask her to explain the relationship...it is pretty close but right now it escapes me without my paper work in front of me.
This will be an open blog for those of us in the family. Outsiders, or anyone can comment onthe blog but I would like for each of us to be able to actually write on the blog. Please feel free to post pictures of your current family, cutest grandchildren, great children, wonderful spouses, etc. I will also try to glean some genealogical information to add to our growing family tree. I also hope to post the tree to the web so everyone will have access.
It was really exciting for me to meet a number of cousins I did not know about when I was last in San Antonio two years ago with my father.
So, this is just the start....please join in.
